Thanks to your donations and support of our fundraisers, six new water filtration units, two new bike racks, and a desk for the lobby have been ordered for OAS and a new scoreboard has been installed in the gym. PTA funds also provided teacher mini grants, cash for class, student social events, and the wonderful assemblies our children have seen this year, which include Fairleigh Dickinson University’s “Possibilities”, Music Technology with Brent Daniels, Author and Illustrator Victoria Jamieson, and Bullies to Buddies with Brooks Gibbs.

We also plan to plant flowers and build a stone border around the new Orange Avenue School sign in the fall. If you have the expertise to help with this project, please contact us at

What’s BYOT?

byod1-resized-600BYOT stands for “Bring Your Own Technology” and it’s the latest trend that schools across the world are implementing!  Students are given the option to bring in their own device (non-gaming, non-phone).  Tablets, laptops, etc… are acceptable.  The devices simply need to be WiFi ready and they can connect to the school’s internet, which comes with content controls built in.  OAS recently announced their BYOT Program, which is OPTIONAL for Middle School Students (6th, 7th, and 8th graders only).  Visit the districts BYOT page for all the details:
