Elementary BINGO NIGHT is on Friday, Feb. 8!

Elementary School ~ Library Recess Forms due January 8th


The arrival of more traditional winter weather means that students will not have the opportunity to have outdoor recess. OAS & the PTA are offering elementary students the option of utilizing the library for reading and/or quiet activities during their regularly scheduled recess. This program will run for 5 weeks – the week of January 11th until the week of February 15th.

If you would like to sign up your child for Library Recess, please fill out the attached form Rockin’ Library Recess 2019 and email it to or send it in to school by January 8th.

OAS Cares – Helping Hands

Do you know of a family in the OAS community dealing with an emergency or a crisis?

The volunteers of Helping Hands, a PTA committee, can alleviate some of the stress by providing dinners for one week or more. Service is confidential and only with the approval of the family.

Cranford Kids Give Back – We Need Your Donations!!

Currently we are working closely with Cranford Family Care (CFC).

What: We are organizing donations of personal care and food pantry items for CFC.

Where: We will be placing boxes in the high school, middle schools, and elementary schools,
as well as the town pools.

When: We will pick up and replace the collection boxes each month or sooner depending
on the level of donations.

Items Needed: Personal Care: Razors (shaving), shaving cream, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner,
band-aids, suntan lotion, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.
Food Pantry: canned goods, juices boxes, condiments, pasta, etc. (Please
check expiration dates before donating!)

What’s BYOT?

byod1-resized-600BYOT stands for “Bring Your Own Technology” and it’s the latest trend that schools across the world are implementing!  Students are given the option to bring in their own device (non-gaming, non-phone).  Tablets, laptops, etc… are acceptable.  The devices simply need to be WiFi ready and they can connect to the school’s internet, which comes with content controls built in.  OAS recently announced their BYOT Program, which is OPTIONAL for Middle School Students (6th, 7th, and 8th graders only).  Visit the districts BYOT page for all the details:
